President of the Moscow Figure Skating Federation (FFKM) Anton Abdurakhmanov left Russia. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the source, his departure took place several months ago and was attributed to legal reasons, but their nature is unknown.
Currently, the organization is deciding on the appointment of a new president. According to the regulations, elections should not be held before May 2025. The Federation is trying to organize things as usual, but the Moskomsport management has already received information about the officer’s departure.
Abdurakhmanov took office in 2022, replacing Irina Raber, who has been president of the organization since 2005.
On December 20, the International Skating Union (ISU) allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in the 2026 Winter Olympics qualifiers with neutral status. We’re talking figure skaters, speed skaters, and short track speed skaters. At the same time, the participation of Russian figure skaters in international tournaments is still suspended – so far we are talking only about admission to the qualifying tournament of the Games, and not about tournaments under the auspices of ISU.
