Former Absolute Fighting Championship fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov has reportedly been removed from a flight to the USA Mainly Sports.
Khabib sat near the emergency exit. During pre-flight instructions, a flight attendant asked him if he wanted to help passengers in an emergency. Khabib could not give a clear answer to the question.
The flight attendant told the athlete that he had to move to another seat, otherwise he would call his supervisor. Khabib refused to change seats. When the manager said he couldn’t let the fighter sit in the exit row or he would have to get off the plane, Khabib responded, “That’s not fair.”
Nurmagomedov was taken off the plane. His comrades, who accompanied the former champion, also followed him.
Nurmagomedov had his last fight in the fall of 2020, defeating American Justin Gaethje in the UFC tournament. Immediately after the fight, he announced that he had promised his mother that he would not fight without his father and that he was retiring from his professional career. After finishing his career, Nurmagomedov founded the Eagle FC promotion.
The athlete had 29 fights in mixed martial arts (MMA) and won each of them. As a result of the survey conducted by the Public Opinion Foundation in 2021, Khabib was chosen as the person of the year in sports. On October 22, 2023, Nurmagomedov announced that he was quitting everything related to fighting.
