Moscow’s former football player and coach Spartak Valery Gladilin said in an interview with socialbites.ca that the capital CSKA will fight for medals until the last round in the Russian Premier League (RPL).

According to him, the arrival of Serbian specialist Marko Nikolic will make a serious contribution to the red-blue team being seen as one of the candidates to be in the top three.

“Although CSKA lacks teamwork and the players are not in ideal form, the core of the team is just being formed. They have strengthened themselves a little, the players are trying. Therefore, I think the army team will fight for medals until the last round,” he said.

CSKA and Spartak will play at the VEB Arena stadium in Moscow on November 2. The starting whistle will sound at 20:45 Moscow time.

In the last round of the national championship, the army club failed to beat Fakel Voronezh on its home field. The match ended with a score of 0:0. The team led by Marko Nikolic is in fifth place in the RPL standings with 24 points.

Former coach of Spartak summarized Khimki’s expectations for the RPL season.
