According to Izvestia, hackers discovered a vulnerability in Wi-Fi routers in September that allowed them to hack into devices and steal traffic. In total, three popular router brands are under threat – and not just them.
As experts explained, the attackers found a way to connect through a Wi-Fi chip. The exploit forces devices to write data to the wrong part of memory, where the malicious code is executed. The problem affected at least three brands: Xiaomi, Ubiquiti and Netgear.
The danger includes millions of devices, from your smartphone to the Wi-Fi-enabled refrigerator that seemingly only kept your food fresh. These vulnerabilities are not just security holes, but actual entry points into your home, allowing hackers to roam.

The exploit is fraught with the fact that attackers can simply steal traffic or collect confidential data about users and even launch malware. Experts recommended installing the latest updates from device manufacturers and, in case of infection, updating the software. Manufacturers have already started releasing the first patches to fix the vulnerability.
Earlier in the United States, hackers hacked several robot vacuum cleaners, forcing them to shout obscene and racist insults.
😂 A new meme is taking over the internet – “Boo, bang? Don’t be afraid!”
