Former Russian national team football player Alexander Mostovoy said he wants to enter politics Sports24.
“I would go for an internship in the State Duma and get involved in politics. But I will not go to the party, but to sports and football,” said Mostovoy.
Mostovoy is a two-time champion of the Soviet Union as part of Spartak (1987, 1989). He played 142 matches for the red and whites from 1987 to 1992. He also played for Portuguese Benfica, French Strasbourg and Caen, Spanish Celta and Alaves. He won the Spanish and Portuguese national cups with Celta and Benfica respectively.
At the beginning of June 2023, the RFU announced that Mostovoy had submitted documents to obtain a Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) coaching license at the RFU Academy. On September 30, the former football player announced that he will intern at Spartak in October 2024.
Previously Mostovoy statedno one will refuse him an internship in Spain.
