Russian athlete Yana Burlakova won the gold medal at the World Track Cycling Championships held in Ballerup, Denmark.

In the 500-meter lap (individual sprint race) he showed a result of 32.863 seconds. Silver and bronze went to Sophie Capwell (33.010) and Katie Marchant (33.119) from Great Britain.

The organization decided to admit Russians and Belarusians to the 2024 Olympic Games as neutral athletes at the end of 2023. To participate, they had to meet a series of requirements and qualify. Medals of Russians and Belarusians were not taken into account in the unofficial medal tally.
