Rambus has announced the release of new sets of SMD components that will allow manufacturers to produce the next generation of RDIMM and MRDIMM RAM modules.
The kit includes key components such as the industry’s first fifth-generation RCD (Registering Clock Driver) chip supporting speeds up to 8,000 MT/s for RDIMMs and the latest multiplexed MRCD register chip and MDB data buffer for MRDIMMs with speeds up to 12,800 MT/s . Of. Also included are second-generation PMIC5030 power management chips and thermal sensors to ensure stable memory performance even under high loads.
The key feature of the DDR5 MRDIMM-12800 is the ability to interleave two data streams via DRAM rank multiplexing, doubling the data transfer speed compared to conventional RDIMMs.
