Pittsburgh’s Russian forward Evgeni Malkin repeated the record of Washington forward Alexander Ovechkin by scoring two or more points in three consecutive games in the 38-and-over National Hockey League (NHL).
In the game against Montreal, Malkin had three assists. The meeting ended with Pittsburgh’s score of 6:3.
Malkin scored 27 goals and had 40 assists in the 2023/24 National Hockey League season. Pittsburgh scored 88 points, finished tenth in the NHL Eastern Conference and failed to make the playoffs. Malkin scored one goal and had six assists in four games this season.
Pittsburgh will face Buffalo in its next game. The meeting will take place on October 17.
Malkin won the Stanley Cup three times with the Penguins in 2009, 2016 and 2017. A member of the Russian national team, the forward twice won gold medals at the World Championships in 2012 and 2014 and participated in the Winter Olympics three more times as part of the national team (2006, 2010, 2014).
Previously Malkin became the first Russian With 800 assists in the NHL.
