The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected the appeal of Russian biathletes Evgeniy Ustyugov and Svetlana Sleptsova. Previously, the athletes’ results from the 2013/14 season were annulled. This period also includes the results of the Sochi Olympics. This was reported on the official website of the International Biathlon Union (IBU).

“CAS has rejected the joint appeal of Ustyugov and Sleptsova against the first instance decisions in their anti-doping rule violation cases,” the statement said.

In the spring of 2022, the International Ski Federation (FIS) decided to suspend Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions until the end of the season. On October 22, this decision was extended for the 2022/23 season.

The International Olympic Committee’s executive board meeting on March 28 proposed allowing the Russians to remain neutral if their athletes are not actively involved in supporting military operations. Athletes representing law enforcement agencies and the armed forces would not be allowed to compete.

Former PKR President appreciated Russian Paralympic athletes perform in Paris.
