Russian swimmer Daria Lukyanenko said she felt calmer after breaking a world record and winning a gold medal at the 2024 Paralympics. The athlete was quoted as saying “Match TV”.
“This distance is one of the most important. It felt better because it worked. Breaststroke is the most successful; I will swim 100 meters with it,” Lukyanenko said.
– Which style suits you best?
-Breaststroke. I will also swim the 100m breaststroke,” Lukyanenko told Match TV.
The 22-year-old athlete became champion by breaking the world record in the 200-meter medley in the SM11 class at the 2024 Paralympic Games.
The athlete updated her own world record by showing a result of 2:37.77. China’s Ma Jia came in second (2:38.70) and her compatriot Liwen Cai took bronze (2:41.83).
Lukyanenko won three medals at these Games; he had previously won two bronze medals in the 400-meter freestyle and 100-meter breaststroke.
