Russian tennis player fails to advance to fourth round at US Open 22:51

Russian tennis player Anastasia Potapova, ranked 38th in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, failed to advance to the fourth round at the US Open.

In the third round match, Potapova lost to Karolina Muchova from the Czech Republic. The match, which lasted 1 hour and 14 minutes, ended with a score of 4:6, 2:6. The Russian player made two aces, committed eight double faults and failed to convert a single break point in two. The Czech player served eight times, committed one service fault and scored three of the possible seven break points.

In the fourth round, Muchova will play against the world’s fifth racket, Italian athlete Yasmin Paolini, who managed to beat Yulia Putintseva from Kazakhstan with scores of 6:3 and 6:4.

At the previous Grand Slam tournament, Wimbledon, Potapova had lost to US representative Bernarda Pere in the first round. The match, which lasted 2 hours and 53 minutes, ended in 3 sets: 7:6 (4), 4:6, 6:7 (6).
