Former Lokomotiv Moscow president Olga Smorodskaya believes that it is too early to talk about the club’s fight for gold with Zenit. Her words are guiding “Match TV”.
“It’s too early to discuss it: we are just entering the championship, only six rounds have passed,” Smorodskaya said.
Lokomotiv took first place in the RPL table after defeating Rostov 3:2 at home in the sixth round. Mikhail Galaktionov’s team defeated the current champions St. Petersburg Zenit after four victories at the beginning of the tournament, first drawing with Khimki away, then with Moscow Spartak (0:0) at home. Lokomotiv is one point ahead of Zenit in the standings.
In the next round of the Russian Championship, Lokomotiv will play against Krasnodar. The meeting will take place on September 1 at the RZD Arena stadium in Moscow and will start at 19.45 Moscow time.
