OK and YuMoney conducted a study to find out which sports are popular among Russians in the summer.
The most common were running (38%), football (25%), swimming and cycling (21% each).
OK notes that users are mostly interested in popular cycling routes in their city, choosing a bike, and photos and videos from cycling trips. Running-related content came in second place; marathons and half-marathons in cities, purchasing appropriate clothes and shoes, etc.
37% of people said they exercise because they want to stay physically fit. Only 7% said they want to become professional athletes and compete.
YuKassa also notes that the turnover of private sports clubs in Russia increases by 2.5 times in the summer compared to the spring. The survey showed that in the summer, the majority went in for sports for free, at 37%. 28% spent on this from one to five thousand rubles, 14% – from five to ten thousand, 8% – from ten to 20 thousand, 5% – from 20 to 30 thousand and more than 100 thousand rubles per month.
