All participants of the main tournament of the UEFA Champions League season 2024/2025 have been determined.
The last teams to qualify for the tournament were Dinamo Zagreb, French Lille, Serbian Red Star and Slovan Bratislava.
The tournament will be attended by Inter, Milan, Juventus, Bologna, Atalanta, Bayer, Stuttgart, Bayern, Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Girona, Atlético Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco, Brest, Lille, PSV, Feyenoord, Sporting, Benfica, Sturm, Salzburg as well as Brugge, Dinamo, Celtic, Sparta, Shakhtar, Young Boys, Red Star “and “Slovan”.
The first Champions League draw in the new format will take place in Monaco on August 29.
Starting from the new season, 36 teams will participate in the tournament instead of the previous 32. The format of the tournament has also been changed – previously, clubs were divided into groups, now the so-called Swiss system will be used and all 36 teams will be in a single ranking.
The current Champions League winners are Real Madrid, who beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the tournament final. The Spanish club then also won the EFA Super Cup, beating Italy’s Atalanta.
Russian clubs and national teams have been suspended from tournaments under the auspices of the Union of European Football Associations and the International Federation of Football Associations since winter 2022.
