Moscow Spartak has undergone a transformation under the leadership of head coach Dejan Stankovic. Former red-white footballer Maxim Demenko commented on this to socialbites.ca.
“I like Spartak now. It seems that Stankovic communicates a lot with the players because we see how the game looks and there is a good atmosphere in the team. In this short time, an organization of defensive and offensive activities has appeared. Ugalde started playing under Stankovic; perhaps he needed such an adaptation during the year. But Stankovic transformed the team,” says Demenko.
The appointment of Dejan Stankovic as head coach of Spartak was announced at the end of last season; the specialist started working in the summer.
In the current Russian Premier League (RPL), Spartak is in fourth place, having collected 10 points from five rounds. In the sixth round, the Muscovites will face St. Petersburg Zenit, who are leading with 13 points. The meeting will take place on Saturday, August 24, and will start at 17:30 Moscow time.
Previously, former player Masalitin stated About concerns about the fate of new arrivals to Spartak.
