Former basketball referee Todd Warnick has confirmed that referees made mistakes in the USA-Serbia Olympic tournament match. He commented on Serbia’s semi-final defeat to the USA. This was reported by Sport Referring to the social networks of journalist Donatas Urbonis.

“The referees made a lot of mistakes in critical situations in the last quarter. That doesn’t change the fact that Serbia themselves didn’t convert a few important shots. But a series of good decisions could have helped them,” Warnick said.

He also said judges should not be overwhelmed by the star status of American basketball players.

“If they break the rules they should be reprimanded. This is a fundamental mistake that I do not want to encounter,” added the former referee.

The match between the USA and Serbia ended with a score of 95:91 (23:31, 20:23, 20:22, 32:15). In the final, the Americans will play against France and the Serbians against Germany. The matches will be played on August 10.
