Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder Andrei Mostovoy expressed hope that the blue-whites will win the Russian Premier League (RPL) ahead of schedule in the 2024/25 season “Championship”.

“Many people think Zenit will become champions ahead of schedule? I hope so. We will do our best to win and see what happens,” Mostovoy said.

In the first round of the Russian Championship, Zenit defeated Krylya Sovetov Samara. The match, played at the Solidarity Arena stadium in Samara, ended with a score of 4-0. Newcomer Maxim Glushenkov scored doubles for the St. Petersburg club in the 6th and 45+2nd minutes of the match. Both times, he was assisted by Wendel. Matteo Cassierra scored another goal from Arthur’s pass, Pedro also scored in the match, and Ivan Sergeev made the assist.
