Former UFC champion in two-weight divisions, Irish Conor McGregor, has once again spoken out against Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov, saying he will fight him with bare fists. His statement leads the way MMA News referring to the words spoken at the press conference.

“He doesn’t represent Russia. He got into debt and then ran away. ‘I would love to fight him in a bare-knuckle fight, but he won’t fight,’ McGregor said.

Khabib Nurmagomedov fought his last fight in the fall of 2020, defeating American Justin Gaethje. Immediately after the fight, he announced his retirement from professional career, announcing that he promised his mother that he would not fight without his father. After finishing his career, Nurmagomedov founded the Eagle FC promotion.

The Russian has fought 29 fights in mixed martial arts and won every one of them. In 2021, Khabib was named the person of the year in sports as a result of a poll conducted by the Public Opinion Foundation. On October 22, 2023, Nurmagomedov announced that he is quitting everything related to fighting.

Khabib defeated McGregor in the fourth round in 2018, forcing the Irishman to submit.
