Salaries in Russian Premier League (RPL) clubs are higher than in Danish championship clubs. He said in an interview “Championship” – said Russian striker of the Danish “Vejle” Herman Onugha.
“In Russia, of course, the wages are higher. That’s why few people leave. The leaders of the Danish championship can compete with Zenit, Spartak, Krasnodar and Dynamo in terms of money,” he said.
Onugha noted that the remaining clubs have smaller budgets, comparable to the RPL, a large bloc of “middle peasants” and foreigners. According to him, this results in three salary ranges.
Onugha was born in Moscow, grew up with his mother and family in Penza. The footballer’s father is Nigerian. German is a product of Penza football; he started his professional career at the local Zenit. In 2018, he was transferred to Krasnodar, but played only three matches in the first five in all tournaments and was transferred to the second team of the black-greens, where he played 59 matches and scored 17 goals. He also played in Russia for Tambov, Rubin and Krylya Sovetov.
Onugha played for Denmark’s Vejle in 2021 and returned to the team in January 2023. He scored 16 goals in 34 appearances last season.
