Perm hockey club Molot’s goalkeeper Egor Guskov was taken to hospital with burns on 40 percent of his body. Report this TASS With reference to the club’s press service.

“The goalkeeper is now conscious, he can barely speak but he tries to be cheerful,” the press service said in a statement.

According to initial reports, the goalkeeper was injured as a result of the incident at home.

Guskov is the winner of the Hlinka/Gretzky Cup (2019) and the Challenge Cup (2019). He played 12 games in the All-Russian Hockey League (VHL) last season.

At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) issued a call to international sports federations, recommending that Russian and Belarusian athletes should not be allowed to participate in any competitions. At the end of 2023, the organization decided to accept Russians and Belarusians as neutral athletes. To participate, they must meet a number of conditions and qualify.

In February 2024, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) extended the suspension of the Russian and Belarusian national teams. The organization reported that the IIHF Council will continue to monitor the situation and will consider the reintegration of the Russian and Belarusian national teams for the 2025/26 season in May 2025.
