Former Spartak player: PSG unlikely to sign Safonov as third goalkeeper 11:18

Former Spartak Moscow player Eduard More believes Krasnodar goalkeeper Matvey Safonov can be PSG’s number one “Match TV”.

“Why shouldn’t Safonov win the competition and become number one? Matvey is a mature goalkeeper, the number one in our team. I think they’re keeping him to play, not just to be on the team,” Mohr said.

On May 22, information appeared in the media for the first time that Krasnodar and the French PSG were approaching an agreement on the transfer of Safonov. On 25 May, RB Sport reported that the clubs had reached an agreement. According to the source, the goalkeeper will undergo a medical check-up in the coming days and then sign a 5-year contract with the French club. The transaction amount will be 20 million Euros and will be paid in installments.

This season, 25-year-old Safonov played 30 matches for Krasnodar and missed 27 goals and kept 11 goals in these matches. The goalkeeper is a graduate of the Krasnodar team.
