Zarema Salikhova, wife of the former owner of Spartak Leonid Fedun, spoke about what she considers the main disgrace of Russian football after the end of the 2023/24 season in the Russian Premier League (RPL). His words lead the way Sports24.

“Russia’s shame is the management decisions of the leadership of Krasnodar and Spartak.” Yes, “Dynamo” is a classic as always. I think we should not expect such gifts from Zenit next season. Now it would be interesting to hear what Khashig and Malyshev think about the results of the season,” said Salikhova.

Zenit beat Rostov with a score of 2:1 and won the Russian championship for the sixth time in a row. The team collected 57 points. It is noteworthy that if Zenit had drawn, Krasnodar would have become the national champion.

In second place in the RPL was Krasnodar, who beat Dinamo Moscow with a score of 1:0. The points of the teams were equal – 56, the Krasnodar club rose higher in the rankings due to head-to-head matches, in the Russian Premier League season the “bulls” beat their opponents twice – the first round match ended with a victory 3:1. During the season, Krasnodar fired Vladimir Ivich from his post as head coach.

Spartak fired Guillermo Abascal from his position as head coach in April, and Vladimir Sliskovich became the acting coach. The red-whites finished the season in fifth place in the Russian Championship, collecting 50 points. Dejan Stankovic will be the coach of the team from next season.
