Ukrainian boxer Alexander Usik published a post on his social network page addressing his fans after defeating Briton Tyson Fury.
“It’s been a while since the fight, my face was a little bruised, but thank God it was a victory. I want to thank all Ukrainians who prayed for me. I receive many congratulatory messages. Thank you! This means a lot to me, I really appreciate it,” Usyk said.
The fight, which took place on the night of May 18-19, lasted the full 12 rounds and ended with Usik defeating Fury by split decision. The Ukrainian boxer retained his WBA, IBF and WBO titles by taking his opponent’s WBC belt. Journalist Dan Rafael saidIt was stated that the Ukrainian player will give up the IBF championship, which will be played in the fight between Daniel Dubois and Filip Hrgovic, planned to be held on June 1.
