Krasnoyarsk “Yenisey” head coach Andrei Tikhonov said that he did not communicate with the referee Vera Opeikina, for whose criticism he was disqualified. His words lead the way metaratings.ru.
“Did you talk to Opeikina after that? And I won’t talk to him. What should I tell him now? “Vera, forgive me for calling you a woman”? “If I had really gone crazy and been insulted, I would have felt guilty and apologized to him,” Tikhonov said.
Tikhonov had previously stated that Opeikina made many mistakes in the Yenisei match against SKA-Khabarovsk and that she should be sent to Makhachkala, also stating her gender. For this statement, the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU KDK) initially punished the specialist with a five-match disqualification (two matches were postponed).
On May 7, Tikhonov’s sentence was commuted. The disqualification now applies to one match the specialist has already missed, and four more games have been postponed. Thus, Tikhonov will be able to lead the team from the bench in the match against KAMAZ on May 8 in the 24th round of the First League.
Formerly in the State Duma I didn’t see Sexism in the scandal with Yenisey coach and female referee.
