Kaliningrad “Baltika” head coach Sergei Ignashevich was punished with a two-match conditional disqualification for calling Sergei Ivanov’s refereeing shameful in the match against Yekaterinburg “Ural” in the 27th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL). This was reported by RIA News Chairman of the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union (KDK RFU) Arthur Grigoryants.
The expert will also have to pay a fine of 200 thousand rubles.
Ignashevich led the Kaliningrad team on October 2, 2021. Baltika entered the RPL at the end of the 2022/23 season, taking second place in the First League. After 25 years the club returns to the top league of Russian football
Ural scored the decisive goal in the last minutes of the match and won with a score of 2:1. In the Russian Championship rankings, Ural ranks 13th with 28 points. Baltika ranks 15th with 26 points.
Zenit St. Petersburg with 51 points in the RPL rankings. Petersburg is at the top. Krasnodar and Dynamo Moscow, which are in second and third place, are missing points.
