Spartak management does not consider the team’s head coach Vladimir Slishkovich as a full-fledged team leader. This was reported by RIA News I’m quoting a source who knows the situation.

“The board of directors leaves the selection of the technical director to the sporting director Tomas Amaral. At the same time, Sliskovich, who communicates and understands the players very well, is likely to remain in the technical staff, regardless of who manages it.”

Sliskovic became acting head coach after Spanish specialist Guillermo Abascal was fired from the team in mid-April.

On April 28, Spartak defeated Moscow Lokomotiv with a score of 3:2 in the 26th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL). Thanks to this victory, Spartak rose to fourth place in the rankings. The team that fired Abascal in mid-April now has 42 points. Lokomotiv is in fifth place with one point missing.

In the next round of the national championship, Spartak will play away against Paris Nizhny Novgorod. The match will be played on May 5 and the starting whistle will blow at 19.00 Moscow time. Lokomotiv will face Rostov at home on May 6, the match will start at 20.30 Moscow time.

Previously Andrey Arshavin stated About Spartak’s development under the new coach.
