“Thomas Bach turned the IOC into a manipulated structure to achieve his goals with Western states. The best defense is attack. This is what they are doing now. It is clear that if the Olympic movement continues the same activities, it will cease to exist in 5 years. Now everyone is infected with the Russophobia virus . Previously, Bach had a good attitude towards Russia. Of course, he does not do this without instructions from above,” Vasiliev said.
At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) appealed to international sports federations, recommending that Russian and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions. At the end of 2023, the organization decided to accept Russians and Belarusians as neutral athletes. To participate, they must meet a number of requirements and be qualified.
