The head coach of “Rostov” Valery Karpin extended the contract with the Don club. This has been reported press office commands.

Also, Karpin’s assistant, Viktor Onopko, extended his agreement with Rostov. The new contracts are for a period of four years and are valid until May 2026.

Rostov finished ninth in the Russian Premier League (RPL) last season.

Karpin, 53, took over the Russian national team last summer. For some time he combined positions in the national team and Rostov, but then focused on the national team.

After sanctions against Russian football by the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Federations (UEFA), Karpin returned to Rostov as the head coach of the national team.

Earlier, Valery Karpin said that he will start the new season at the head of Rostov.

“In the current situation it is clear that we will be here in Rostov and not going anywhere. Except for friendly matches. At the beginning of Rostov, I have already started the season and will continue. Whoever hooked me up with someone, all questions are to them,” he said.
