Former Lokomotiv head coach Yuri Semin shared his thoughts on which team performed best in the second half of the Russian Premier League (RPL). His words guide the way “Sports Express”.
“I like Rostov the most. They were the best prepared for the second part of the championship and therefore collected the most points. And that’s the most important thing,” Semin said.
After the restart of the Russian Premier League, Rostov won three consecutive victories against Krylia Sovetov Samara (2:0), Krasnodar (2:1) and Dynamo Moscow (4:1). Valery Karpin’s team is in ninth place in the standings with 30 points. In the next round of the national championship, the Rostov team will play against Sochi, the match will start on April 6 at 20:00 Moscow time.
On April 2, “Rostov” beat “Khimki” in the penalty shootout and reached the semi-finals of the Russian Cup Road to Regions. The regular time of the match ended 0-0. After the final whistle, the main referee of the match, Alexey Sukhoi, expelled Valery Karpin and Viktor Onopko for their speeches.
