Olympic medalist Irina Slutskaya talked about figure skater Alexandra Trusova’s emotional reaction at the Beijing Games. His words were quoted “Sports Express”.

“It’s better to come and pull him aside, hide the person, let him cry, talk, let it all come out. So you need to go to Trusova, hug her, lock her in a room and be with her. And only then, when he comes to his senses a little, take him to the mixed zone.

Why didn’t Tutberidze do this? Probably because he has more than one athlete and perhaps because the coach maintains some sort of chain of command. But there were others who could do it…” Slutskaya said.

Alexandra Trusova won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing, losing to her compatriot Anna Shcherbakova. Kaori Sakamoto from Japan finished in the top three. Before the award ceremony, Trusova refused to go to the ceremony and emotionally stated that she would never go on the ice again.

It is worth noting that Trusova trained in the Eteri Tutberidze group from 2016 to 2020. He moved to Evgeni Plushenko in May 2020, but returned to Tutberidze a year later.

Previously Russian figure skater ridicule Zagitov.
