Shanghai Shenhua is in first place in the Chinese Championship with nine points. Shandong Taishan is in seventh place with four points.
This was Shanghai Shenhua’s fourth consecutive victory.
The Russian specialist took charge of Shanghai Shenhua in December 2023. Before China, Slutsky’s last place of work was Rubin Kazan. Under his leadership, the team took the penultimate place in the Russian Premier League (RPL) in the 2021/22 season and was relegated to the First League.
Slutsky is also known for his work at CSKA Moscow. He led the team to the RPL title three times, won the domestic Cup and the Super Cup twice.
Slutsky led the Russian national team from 2015 to 2016. Under his leadership, the national team finished fourth in its group at the 2016 European Championship, after which he left his post.
