Valery Gladilin, former coach of Moscow Spartak, said in an interview with socialbites.ca that the Ukrainian national team can reach the 1/8 finals of the 2024 European Championship due to the large number of players playing in Europe.
According to him, the Ukrainian team is able to manage the available resources in a way that will repeat its success at Euro 2020 when it reaches the quarter-final stage, where it lost to the British.
“Anything is possible because almost all of their first teams play in the best leagues in Europe. There are no unbeatable super teams anymore, so it’s quite possible, why not. If you set a clear goal then it can be achieved,” said Gladilin.
On March 26, Ukraine defeated Iceland in the European Championship Path B final qualifying match. The match was played in Wroclaw and ended with a strong 2:1 win for the team led by Sergei Rebrov. Chelsea midfielder Mikhail Mudrik scored the winning goal of the match.
The final of EURO 2024 will be held in Germany between 14 June and 14 July. 24 teams will compete in the group stage of the tournament.
It was known before hopes Georgia in Euro 2024.
