“They still have time to live in our society”: Fetisov on Russians at the Olympic Games 16:52

Two-time Olympic champion and State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Fetisov called the policy of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) ostrich. His words are quoted RIA News.

“Going to the Olympics is not an easy matter in today’s conditions. If this is the athletes’ decision, then they must understand that they must somehow continue to live in our society with this decision. On the other hand, it is not clear who can go to Paris. Ultimately, many of our athletes did not qualify for the Games due to the IOC’s ostrich policy; they were not given a chance,” said Fetisov.

In December 2023, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) allowed Russia and Belarus to participate in the 2024 Olympics with neutral status. It was also noted that they should not support the SVO or have connections with military organizations. Athletes can only compete in individual programs, they are prohibited from participating in team tournaments.

Athletes had to meet the necessary conditions to participate in the Olympics.

Several other Russian athletes have previously denied From participating in the Olympics.
