Russian Football Union (RFU) General Secretary Maxim Mitrofanov said that he does not expect anything from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) regarding Russia’s acceptance. His words are quoted “Sports Express”.

“Double standards on clean water. I understand everything about them. And precisely because I understand everything about them, I do not expect anything from them. “It is strange to expect anything from these people if their decisions are determined by the political will of third parties,” Mitrofanov said.

In the spring of 2022, the International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team, as well as all Russian clubs, in all competitions controlled by these organizations.

UEFA made an attempt to return the Russian youth team to the international arena, but in the autumn of 2023 the organization’s board of directors annulled the decision on admission.

Israeli football players continue to compete in international competitions. Matches are played on the territory of other states. So far, more than a dozen countries have opposed Israel’s participation in the tournaments.

Previously reportedHe said the RFU had asked UEFA to admit Russia into the next election cycle.
