‘I don’t want to end the season in two weeks’: Ovechkin reflects on NHL playoff campaign 11:06

Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin said his teammates have shown confidence in recent games. His words are quoted official website of the club.

“You see how we are playing now, everyone is confident, everyone understands the situation. That’s why we compete all season long, starting from training camp. “I don’t want to end the season in two weeks, I want to keep playing,” Ovechkin said.

On March 24, in the regular season match of the National Hockey League (NHL), Washington Capitals defeated the Winnipeg Jets with a score of 3:0. Alexander Ovechkin scored two goals.

Washington currently sits in eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings, which qualifies them to play in the NHL playoffs.

Ovechkin played in a total of 67 regular season matches this season and scored 26 goals and made 32 assists in these matches. The Russian forward has scored eight goals and one assist in the last five games.
