Former head coach of the Russian national team, Boris Ignatiev, admitted that his pension is small and noted that he can only use it to stay at home. His words guide the way Sports24.
“I don’t want to give numbers, but my pension is ridiculous. It’s very difficult to live with this. I have some savings, but without them my job would be difficult. <...> There is no such thing as adding someone to my pension. I heard they added money somewhere but not for me yet. I’m in this cage but I’m still without me. Probably next time,” Ignatiev said.
In different years of his career, the specialist coached both youth and main Russian national teams. He also worked for Torpedo, Lokomotiv and Dinamo Moscow, took charge of Dynamo Kiev and also coached Al-Ittihad from Saudi Arabia for a month.
In the spring of 2022, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team and all Russian clubs in all competitions controlled by these organizations. The Russians missed the 2022 World Cup play-offs and will also miss the upcoming European Championship.
