On March 14, the final matches of the 1/4 finals of the RPL Road and the 1/8 finals of the Regional Road of the Russian Football Cup took place.
In the upper tier of the tournament (RPL Path) Spartak and CSKA from Moscow, St. Zenit from St. Petersburg and Baltika from Kaliningrad will compete in the semi-finals. They beat Orenburg, Rostov, Dynamo and Lokomotiv in their matches respectively. Now these four teams are relegated to the lower bracket (Regional Path). There they will play Ekaterinburg Ural, Khimki near Moscow, Grozny Akhmat and SKA-Khabarovsk, which won the 1/8 final matches.
The draw for the RPL Road semi-final matches and Regional Road quarter-final matches will be held on March 15.
The current owner of the Russian Cup is CSKA. In last year’s final, the red-blue team beat Krasnodar in the penalty shoot-out. The Bulls completed their participation in this season’s tournament by losing to Khimki.
It is worth noting that since the spring of 2022, by the decision of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), Russian clubs have lost the opportunity to compete in European cups.
