Rostov head coach Valery Karpin admitted at a press conference that he does not care which team competes for medals in the Russian Premier League (RPL) this season. His words guide the way press service Rostov club.
“Can Krasnodar become champions? Why not, of course it can. I don’t care who the favorite is in the championship race. This is none of my business. We need to collect our points and let them figure this out,” Karpin said.
On March 8, Rostov defeated Krasnodar in the 20th round of the national championship. The meeting ended with a score of 2:1. Mohammad Mokhebi hit two accurate shots in the winners. John Cordoba scored for Krasnodar.
Krasnodar ranks first in the Russian Championship rankings with 39 points. Rostov is in ninth place with 27 points.
St. Petersburg Zenit is in second place in the Russian Championship with 37 points. Dinamo Moscow is in third place. Marcel Lička’s team scored 35 points.
