The International Skating Union (ISU) will continue to conduct doping tests on Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva, who was sentenced to a four-year suspension for violating anti-doping rules. This was reported by TASS.

The International Federation has been closely monitoring the figure skater since the summer of 2020. In addition to ISU, Valieva is also subjected to doping testing by the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA).

On January 29, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) found Valieva guilty of doping and disqualified the athlete. He will not be able to compete in tournaments until December 2025. He also can’t practice at state skating rinks.

On February 7, CAS issued a rationale for Valieva’s case. In addition to the banned trimetazidine, three permitted substances were found in the skater’s blood. These are ecdysterone, hypoxene and L-carnitine. According to the CAS document, the Russian woman took approximately 60 medications and supplements between 2020-2021.

At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) appealed to international sports federations, recommending that Russian and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions. For this reason, the International Skating Union (ISU) suspended athletes from both countries from competitions.

Previously Valieva guess imminent end of career.
