In the 1/8 finals of the Gagarin Cup, Spartak Moscow beat Severstal with a score of 5:4 in overtime (regular time ended with a score of 4:4).

The red-whites opened the scoring of the match in the 10th minute (German Rubtsov). At the beginning of the second period, Cherepovets equalized the score with a puck from Danil Aimurzin. In this episode, the teams exchanged goals once again (Andrey Loktionov and Danil Aimurzin).

In the final period, the teams hit each other’s goals an equal number of times. Ivan Morozov (double) scored for Muscovites, while Kirill Pilipenko and Egor Stepanov scored for Severstal.

After this match, the score in the series was 3:1 in favor of Spartak. The next match will be played in Moscow on March 8. The red-whites won the previous match with a score of 7:3.

The current winner of the Gagarin Cup is CSKA. On the 100th anniversary of its establishment on April 29, 2023, the Ordu team won the seventh match of the final series against Ak Bars Kazan and won the cup.
