Former Spartak player talked about Glushakov’s transfer to Urartu

Former Moscow Spartak football player Valery Masalitin said in an interview with socialbites.ca that the transfer of midfielder Denis Glushakov to Armenian Urartu is connected with the club’s desire to strengthen its squad.

According to him, the 37-year-old midfielder can have a positive impact on the club’s young players.

“Here, the player’s wish coincides with the Urartu management’s wish, they do not invite the player to the team. “The club thought Glushakov could be useful this season and help the young players, so they invited him,” he said.

The midfielder’s last club was Spartak Kostroma, which plays in the Second League. The contract was terminated by mutual consent of the parties in January 2024. Glushakov played for Spartak Moscow from 2013 to 2019. He won the Russian Premier League (RPL) with the red and white team in the 2016/17 season.

After leaving Spartak, the midfielder signed a contract with Akhmat Grozny and in July 2020 moved to Khimki, near Moscow, where he played for a season and a half. Glushakov has 57 matches as a member of the Russian national team.

Urartu is in fourth place in the Armenian championship rankings with 35 points. Pyunik ranks first with 48 points.
