“Acute brain disease”: Former Krasnodar player lost consciousness and frightened the club

London Arsenal graduate Kristoffer Olsson, who played for Russian club Krasnodar between 2019 and 2021, was urgently hospitalized due to acute brain disease. Information about this appeared at: official website Danish club Midtjylland, where Olsson has been playing since 2022.

“The 28-year-old Swedish national player fell ill at home on Tuesday, February 20, and was transferred to Aarhus University Hospital, where he was connected to a ventilator.

Midtjylland said in a statement that Olsson was suffering from an acute brain disease that was not related to any trauma and was not the result of external factors.

The press service of the Danish club emphasized that Olsson’s team staff and relatives are constantly with him and that Denmark’s leading medical experts are trying to make a definitive diagnosis so that appropriate treatment can be started as soon as possible.

The club also appealed to the public and asked them not to ask questions about the football player’s current condition and to leave his family and doctors alone.

“Everyone in Midtjylland is deeply shocked by Kristoffer’s sudden illness. We will inform the public when new important information becomes available,” the club’s press service said.

Olsson played 59 matches for Krasnodar and scored four goals in these matches.
