Research organization CIES Football Observatory published Ranking of Russian Premier League (RPL) clubs by transfer balance over the last five seasons.
At the same time, only six teams were included in the rankings; Teams whose transfer volume (expenses and revenues) exceeded 100 million Euros in the last five seasons. The best in this indicator is Moscow’s CSKA (minus 10 million euros), while the second and third places are shared by the capital’s Dynamo and Krasnodar (minus 63 million euros).
Russian champion Zenit showed the worst result. It turned out that the St. Petersburg club’s account was minus 126 million euros. Zenit bought four players in the 2024 winter transfer period and paid a total of 30 million euros to the newcomers.
Matches of the Russian championship will continue in early March. Krasnodar, which lasted 18 weeks in the Russian Premier League (RPL), entered the winter break as the leader by collecting 38 points. Zenit is in second place with two points missing. Dinamo (32 points) completed the top three.
In the first match after the restart of the season in RPL, Zenit will host Spartak Moscow and Krasnodar will host Rubin Kazan, which is in seventh place, at home.
