Former Russian national football team forward Dmitry Bulykin said Russian Premier League (RPL) clubs thoughtlessly spend money from state companies. He shared his opinion with him “RB Sports”.

“Clubs sometimes spend money recklessly because they understand that it is the money of state companies. If transfers fail, the club will still have the chance to buy someone else for big money. But if this money were less, purchases would be treated more carefully. Now foreign players often come to us for big money, but their quality is questionable. This is very bad,” said Bulykin.

On February 23, the winter transfer window in the RPL closed. Zenit St. Petersburg spent the most with 29.85 million Euros. Petersburg did. The remaining championship clubs spent just over 39 million euros in total.

Matches of the Russian championship will continue in early March. After 18 rounds in the RPL, Krasnodar entered the winter break as the leader with 38 points. Zenit is in second place with two points missing. Dinamo (32 points) completed the top three.
