The Latvian Hockey Federation suspended the licenses of Latvian athletes participating in the Future Games. This was reported by official website of the organization.
“Based on information regarding the participation of some Latvian players in the Future Games held in Russia, the Latvian Hockey Federation suspended the licenses of these hockey players,” the statement said.
The Baltic Select team, which reached the semi-finals and lost the fight for third place, has eight hockey players. These are Ervin Mushtukov, Kirill Tambiev, Pavel Goroshkov, Martin Lavrov, Alexey Popov, Alisher Mubarakshin, Nikita Zantmans, Artem Kuvsinovs.
On February 21, the opening ceremony of the “Games of the Future” took place in Kazan. The competition will end on March 3.
Professional athletes and clubs from all over the world are invited to the “Games of the Future”. In total, esports athletes will compete in 21 disciplines. 107 countries will participate in the competition. The total prize fund of the tournament is $10 million.
