New York Rangers’ Russian forward Artemy Panarin became the second star of the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season match against the New York Islanders.
Panarin scored a goal in overtime and gave his team the victory with a score of 6:5. This goal was the striker’s 32nd goal of the regular season. He also made two assists in the match. Panarin took the ice in a total of 55 Rangers matches in the 2023/24 season and scored 74 points in these matches.
Panarin has been playing in the National Hockey League since 2015. He signed a seven-year contract with the Rangers in July 2019 that was supposed to net him $81.5 million. He also played for the Chicago Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets.
The first star of the match was Rangers forward Vincent Trocheck (2+1), while Islanders forward Brock Nelson (1+1) entered the top three.
The Islanders extended their NHL regular season losing streak to three games. The Rangers won their seventh straight game in the National Hockey League.
