The Swedish men’s team won the relay race at the 2024 Biathlon World Championships, held these days in Nove Mesto, Slovenia.

The Scandinavian team completed the 4×7.5 kilometer distance in 1 hour 16 minutes 22.6 seconds with 9 additional laps. Representatives of the Norwegian team crossed the finish line second, while French athletes took third place.

The top 10 included teams from Germany, USA, Italy, Czech Republic, Finland, Poland and Kazakhstan.

Russian and Belarusian athletes have been suspended from international competitions since March 2022 due to a special military operation on Ukrainian territory. This decision was taken in line with the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

In the spring of 2022, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) announced its decision to admit Belarusian and Russian biathletes to the World Cup and IBU stages only as neutral athletes. As a result, the Russians decided to skip the competition at the end of the 2021/22 season.

Previously French biathletes repeated USSR national team record.
