“There are problems in the goalkeeper school: the level has dropped. All football collapsed due to non-participation in European cups: no competition, no national team playing, no qualifying matches. Currently, no Russian goalkeeper is worthy of playing in the European championship. For now, they need to play safely in the RPL,” Polyakov said.
In the spring of 2022, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team and all Russian clubs in all competitions controlled by these organizations.
