Russian forward and Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin explained why he flew to Dubai with his family during the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season. His words guide the way “Sports Express”.

“It was Nastya’s father’s birthday and we decided to celebrate it beautifully. We invited a lot of our family and friends and refilled ourselves with incredible emotions. Yes, it was tough flying back and forth in the middle of the season, but it was worth it,” Ovechkin said.

In the match against the Colorado Avalanche on February 14, the Russian forward scored a goal. For him, this is the sixth consecutive match in which a goal has been scored. Ovechkin’s goal streak (goals + assists) in the current NHL season has already reached a total of seven games (6+3).

The Russian forward played in a total of 49 games in the NHL regular season this season and recorded 14 goals and 23 assists in these games.

The Russian continues to pursue Wayne Gretzky’s sniping record. The Moscow striker has 836 goals. The legendary Canadian scored 894 goals in his NHL career; Ovechkin currently trails him by 58 goals.
