The Netherlands did not request the extradition of Spartak Moscow striker Quincy Promes, who was convicted in a drug trafficking case, from Russia. This was reported by TASS.
According to the source, Promes’ name does not appear in Interpol databases either.
“Promes is not wanted by Interpol; there are no requests for his whereabouts or possible detention for that matter,” the source said.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes to six years in prison for cocaine trafficking.
The hearing of the case was held on January 24, and the prosecutor’s office requested that Promesa be sentenced to 9 years in prison. The striker is currently in the red-whites training camp in the UAE.
In 2020, in the Belgian port of Antwerp, police seized two drug shipments with a total weight of approximately 1,370 kg. According to investigators, the cargo belonged to Promes. It was also claimed that the athlete had a connection with drug dealer Pete Wartel, to whom he paid 250 thousand Euros in exchange for the missing cocaine “for his own safety”.
It has already been determined where it will be to be Quincy Promes after the court decision.
